I’ll start by saying that this is my first attempt at serious blogging action, well kind of. I’ve set up a blog before and have yet to write anything substantial on it. Well anything full stop really, but people keep telling me it’s the thought that counts, so I will continue to believe that.

I’m a First Year at Griffith University, studying a Bachelor of Communication, and I eventually want to become a Sports Journalist. In a nutshell. The other subjects I’m doing are Journalism, Intro to Marketing and Intro to PR. I find it a nice cohesive subject choice this semester, all the subjects seem to be really closely linked, which is good.

Since this is subject is New Technology, I guess it would only be appropriate to mention the types of technologies I use, and like. First and foremost, I’m an Android girl. I refuse to be a slave to Apple corporation, although I would lose the will to live if I lost my iPod, but that’s the only slice of Apple (see what I did there) I own. On the subject of phones, I have come to realise that I have a completely unnatural obsession with mine, something that became apparent to me when I recently had to have it reset by the (Ph)one (D)octors at the Telstra shop, or as I like to call them, the PhD’s. That’s because I, like most of us today, have pretty much I whole lives stored on these devices and the thought of losing them is completely terrifying. Yes people, you’re reading correctly. I am talking about a technological device and not a family member.

My social media habits include Facebook, Twitter (I’m a skeptic turned advocate for Tweeting (if only some people would do so for climate change) and, more recently Instagram. It’s kind of sad to admit, but I usually check at least one of these pages before I get out of bed in the morning. Frightening.

There are some interesting topics to be covered this semester so hopefully some of you will find this blog entertaining!

That’s it for now.

Cheers
